    Ile de l'Est

Eastern Island at sunrise. It doesn’t look like much, but 25 millions birds are about to wake up here and elsewhere in Crozet archipelago. The cliffs, the rocks and the sky will soon be animated with life. Beaches also, but there birds must cohabit with seals and sea elephants. I don’t know when this started. Say quite so time, since these islands have been created by volcanoes more than 100000 years ago. Ah, by the way, each year Eastern Island is also keeping company to a few tens of men and women settled on the neighbor island, Possession Island.
