1st Year
  1. Find an advisor before the end of 1st year (July 31st).
  2. Pass the online Ethic Course (Register Here)
*Starting from 2014, students are required to pass Ethic Course to be eligible to take QE.
2nd & 3rd Year
  1. Pass the written TIGP Qualifying Exam (offered every Spring Semester--around February)
  2. Complete all required courses.

1 semester of "Thesis Research Proposal" is required one semester prior to graduation
TIGP-BIO program emphasizes research training and developing one's capability and self-confidence for independent research. Once entering this program, students can choose mentors and thesis advisors for their study according to their research interests.
In this program, we invite faculty from various disciplines to participate. This program adopts a team-teaching system, where each faculty member teaches a subject according to his or her expertise. In keeping up with the international trend, all courses are offered in English.

Time Limitations
-Students are required to advance to doctoral candidacy by the end of the third year.

-Candidates must complete all requirements within seven calendar years after the first registration in the Graduate College.

-Fail to fulfill the aforesaid requirements will be terminated from Bioinformatics Program and will lose a valid student status with the registered partner university.


Advisor
Students need to find an advisor, who is a member of the BIO program's core faculty before the end of the first academic year (July 31st).

Note: Except for National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (BMI), all other 3 partner universities (National Tsing Hua University, the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (IBSB), and National Taiwan University) require a co-advisor who is an official faculty of its university (You do not need a co-advisor if your advisor is a school faculty who is also on TIGP-BP's core faculty list.)

NTHU: A co-advisor can be any official faculty from College of Life Science at NTHU

NYCU(IBSB): A co-advisor can be any official faculty from College of Biological Science and Technology at NYCU (IBSB)

NTU: A co-advisor can be a NTU faculty from the BP core faculty list.
